Well folks the quest for the latest holy grail (green Tentite this time) has ended with the winning bidder taking it for $12,800.
Cracker I thought you were going to sit on your wallet, but perhaps that bonk on the head had something to do with it. Anyway, just think how much $$$$$ you saved. Some guy called Fullofbigbucks (or something like that) is the "lucky" winner! Cheers! Moosehead __________________ It takes less effort to smile than to frown ! |

Randall white tenite 1950's area for sale!
To whom it may concern,
There's going to be a Randall model 15 1950's area white tenite going on auction on eBay. The auction will start on or around 11/28/15. Thank you. Best Regards |

Here's a link to the auction. It's curious that this rare Randall is the only knife offered by this seller who's other items include t-shirts, ear rings and used sweat pants. Don't forget to notice the $250.00 shipping fee.

"She" inherited the knife and has no need for it. I suppose someone provided information on the rarity of this blade. Regardless, there are quite a few bids and the reserve still has not been met. Over priced a tad bit imo.

She had this knife listed about a month or so ago, and when I started asking questions and bidding heavy on it, she decided (and rightly so) to pull the auction and do some research. Of course, I have done a ton of research on it as well, and I won't be as likely to pay as much as I may have last time.....

6k and reserve not met.
Snap issue on the flap of the sheath also. Appears that the brown button is missing. Hey, I'll sell the winner of the auction or seller one off of mine for 2k. Regards, Samg Last edited by samg; 12-07-2015 at 12:27 PM. |

The white tenite didn't budge off 6k. I guess that is about the collectors ceiling. I was ready for the end of the auction, fully expecting a couple of last second bids. It didn't happen. Probably because the reserve put people off.
A seller has to have nerves of steel to put a valuable knife out there without a reserve, but it does put buyers off. Any idea what the reserve may have been? I know the model 14 white tenite that started this thread back in 2006 went for $28,200 and it was in a Moore sheath. The economy has obviously tanked since then. Just wonder what the value would have been without the reserve. The collectors world is so unpredictable. And I know its always in the eye of the beholder, but IMO this "holy grail" knife that belongs to Ron is a true Grail. Pre WW2. Made in a day before Bo was truly on the map with the war. The way he truly wanted to make them, being the fisherman and Hunter that he was. I understand the tenite and lift a dot sheath for sure, but its ironic, Bo quit using the tenite because it wasn't stable, and was prone to shrinkage. Great knife for sure, but IMO....not a Grail Regards, Samg |

The white Tenite has been re-listed with a "Buy it now" price of $23,000! I was the high bidder at $6,000.
The knife that originally started this thread that supposedly was purchased for $28,200 was rumored to have been sold afterwards for a loss at approx. $15,000. The knife today would never bring in close to that. |

That's amazing! The bid didn't budge off $6k for what..2 days? There is the going value I guess. That model 14 had the Clarence Moore sheath too, which puts it in another category.
This knife is a nice part of Randall history, but she will be the owner for quite some time to come. Regards, Samg |

The market is just too soft for a knife like that to sell for big money. As the old school collectors fall out of the market because they purchased knives in the "hayday" of Randall collecting, and paid those big numbers and will never see a comparable return on them, everybody is "gun shy" to pull the trigger on these nowadays.....
