Welcome DJF54 to the Knife Network!

We'd like to see your Randall and will try and help you identify it.

Please check the thread at the top entitled "Important Information!" and you'll find detailed instructions for posting photos.

Cheers!

David

David,
I cannot get the photos uploaded, either to dumb to figure it out or it just won't work for me.
Anyway, perhaps it isn't a Randall, since there's no factory stamp in the blade, seeing the Stamps go back to the 40's an this knife doesn't look that old. Picked it up in an antique store & assumed it was a Randall by the quality & style/shape of the handle. t's either a GR or CR, about a 1/4" tall in the blade. The bottom of the G or C is connected to the bottom of the R, kinda like a "Cattle Brand", and appears as if cut deep into the blade prior to final polishing, so the letters look dark and crisp. Is this makers mark familiar, or is just from an unknown artisan? It's a beautifully made knife with sheath & picked it up for $30.00.

Hi DJF54!

I'm sorry you aren't able to post your photos.

From your own description and powers of observation it would appear that your knife is not a Randall.

It seems like it was well crafted by a custom knife-maker, and is not factory made. However I'm not familiar with the marking on the blade, but maybe someone else here can help identify the maker.

In any event, it seems like you found a cool knife for a great price. I hope you enjoy it!

Cheers!

David

Sounds like the Chris Reeves trademark but I didn't think Chris made anything that looked like a Randall.
