Supplier for firebrick and kaowool?

Does anyone have a link or two for different suppliers for soft firebricks, kaowool, and refractory coating?

Depending on where you live, you might check your yellow pages for a local refractory or refractory supply. A pottery supply, or a place who builds fireplaces or brick ovens MIGHT have some of what you need as well.

It's definitely a substantial cost savings if you don't have to ship any of the materials, but rather can pick them up directly.

I got a bunch of fire brick from a local refractory that had a couple boxes left over from a kiln build.
Call around and ask nicely... you might be surprised.

As for my ceramic fiber insulation (kaowool), I got that from ceramicfiberonline.com if I remember right. I just bought a whole roll of the stuff for about 50 bucks or so. For the amount I needed, it was cheaper than buying by the square foot from a supplier.
