Found a little more info on this knife. According to what family remembers, knife was bought in early 60's while owner in Alaska--at least they THINK that was when it was bought. Here is a better pic of the stamp. I will leave it up to you guys to determine if that date matches stamp style. And thanks for all the info.

Stamp looks ok, type 2, pre 1966. I don't have a start date for using that stamp but it (or a facsimile) was being used by 1960 or so, confirmed by documented knife. Lots more could be done with "stamp-ology" but hasn't and probably won't be. Too much "insider" waste-product to wade through for me to want to do further comparisons.
