Buxton Fighter #955

I ordered a Buxton Fighter from Wayne Buxton back in June, and I just received it. It is #955. According to Wayne, it is the first one with a single hilt. In addition to the single hilt, I also specified a square hilt top and thumb notches. I also specified a black no-hone sheath. I spoke with Wayne yesterday, and he told me that he felt it turned out nice, so I suspect that there will be more single-hilt Buxton Fighters in the future.

For those who are unaware, the Buxton Fighter has a Bowie Clip Point grind for its 6.5-inch blade (between the #15 with a 5.5-inch blade and the #14 with a 7.5-inch one), and has a protruding tang with a wrist thong hole. A nickel silver double hilt, black (or green) border patrol handle, and stainless steel blade are standard.

Anyway, here is a photo of Buxton Fighter #955:

Nice looking knife, I like the two tone color scheme. Black and silver look great.

Hi Ken!

Congrats on your new Buxton Fighter!

I always like a Randall that's out of the ordinary and yours definitely fits the bill.

However, with the single hilt I really think you should call it a Buxton Camp knife.

I also have an unusual Buxton Fighter which I ordered with a double oblong hilt and single finger grip handle way back when...

Here's a link to the thread: http://www.knifenetwork.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=33844

Notice that 437 of these knives have been made during the seven years plus between mine and yours.

Egads, it's been over seven years!

I have never been a huge fan of the Buxton fighter.....I'm a huge fan of Wayne Buxton.....but I really like this knife with the single guard. Really a nice knife.
