Set of Smithsonian's on eBay?

http://m.ebay.com/itm/252245225482?_mwBanner=1

I posted this new thread late last night, because I thought I had found a fake Randall offering, due in part to the blade stamp. Also no sheaths were shown.
My reason for believing that they were fake was because on the blade stamp the words

RANDALL and
ORLANDO

line up with each other, which I have noticed in fakes before. After further exploring of these bowie knives, I found that the stamps were this way in legitimate Randall Bowie's. So I have changed this post and I hope that the 19 who viewed it knew better, or perhaps they will view my correction this morning.

My apologies for jumping the gun on this one, and another learning moment for me on these great knives.

Regards, Sam G

Hi Sam!

Thanks for posting these impressive looking Bowies. I like stag handles on this type of knife the best. Come to think of it I like stag handles on all knives.

Your initial wariness about the legitimacy of this set is understandable considering the late hour of your original post. I'm glad your dreams brought you to realizing their authenticity.

Thanks for posting your corrections.

That's a fine looking set of Bowies, with all of the handles curving in the same direction. It's an important touch that isn't always present on so-called matching knives.

Cheers!

David

Thanks David.
Not only the time of night, but I have been battling the flu bug for four days.

I actually am a bit embarrassed as Jack put so much work into the stamp styles thru the years....sorry about that Jack. I have spent time today reviewing that thread.

I sent a message to the seller, asking for pictures of the accompanying sheaths. It would help the sell.

Regards, Sam
