Knifetalk forums NEW HOME!
Yesterday knifetalkforums went the way of the Randall Knife Society and was terminated. A scant seventy days after I delivered the eulogy at Rhett Stidham's memorial service, both of the organizations he founded and for which he worked so diligently have been closed. It is my opinion this was done in a most cowardly fashion without notice or explanation to the members. Though I found out Monday morning that this was eminent, I could not alert the board as I was permanently banned early in the day without cause or notice.
I may feel compelled at a later date to relate the whole story but for now the reasons can be boiled down to grief and greed. A great deal of valuable information and images are now irretrievable from the archives but they are not lost. The knowledgeable folks that contributed daily are still envolved. Alexander Graham Bell said: ?When one door closes, another opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us.? What is important now is to spread the word that we have not been eliminated, we have simply moved. Tell your friends "Y'all Come! Last edited by Rick Bowles; 08-09-2011 at 08:40 AM. |

Hi Rick and fellow RMK enthusiasts!
Welcome aboard! It is indeed disgraceful that the legacy of Rhett Stidham has been tarnished in such a shabby, selfish manner. The fact that the efforts of so many RMK collectors were flushed down the toilet, with not so much as an explanation, nor apology is absolutely inexcusable. Fortunately, the Randall forums here at the Knife Network are still breathing. Despite having been in hibernation for awhile, these bears can be stirred from their slumber fairly easily. All it takes is the participation of those of us who enjoy sharing our passion for Randall Made Knives. To all reading this: please spread the word. We're "open for business"! Cheers! Rick,
Thanks for the email heads-up about the Knifetalk Forums closing down and the Randall collectors that were members of the Randall Knife Society being asked to come to the knifenetwork. I hadn't visited this forum for a long time, but I was pleased to see that I was still registered. Thank you all for providing a forum to ask questions, display, and talk about Randall knives. Hey All..
Although I've been a member of this forum awhile now...I was a long time member of the RKS. I'm sure once the word is spread around almost all of the RKS forum member's will get on board. __________________ Rex Buckner |

Hello all
After looking for the KnifeTalk Forums and then getting a phone call from Moosehead, I am here to contribute and learn. Although I live in Ireland, my RMK live in Canada. I just returned this morning from a week in Canada, where I had a bit of a holiday, as well as a "fondle and photo shoot" of a few of my RMK. I will post some pics, in the next few days, if I can remember how to do so. I am hopeful things will go well here and it will be a good site for everyone, new and old RMKaholics.. Don't know if it is appropriate or correct, but I left my RKS number under my name. I did so in remembrance of Rhett, who did so much for us RMK collectors. __________________ ----------- Rod Brown RKS 3846 |

I would love to hear Rick Tuberville's take on how things went down. It has been my understanding that RT owned at least 20% on knifetalkforums.com even before Rhett's passing and possibly the whole shebang after Rhett's death. He sure was an active, behind the scene, participant especially during the last couple of years. Where is Paul Harvey and "The Rest of the Story" |

Hi folks!
It's really unfortunate that Knifetalkforums has closed down. We lost a wealth of Randall related information and a fantastic collection of photos. Although there is no way to stop the spread of gossip, it seems unethical and perhaps disrespectful to discuss the shut down here. Instead, let's talk about Randalls.... Cheers!
