too many options
Steve,
Sorry..but you are over on your options. A Model #7 comes standard with a leather handle. "Any" other handle material or handle shaping is an option. By listing the black micarta as standard, you were doomed from the start. Anyway: We are "strictly" going for "blade length" right now. Best, Capt. Chris __________________ Captain Chris Stanaback |

First decision: Blade length five inches for more versatility than four and one half and same capability.

Chief!
12.7 centimeters would be more versatile, and have more capabilities than 11.43cm. I hope this helps. Cheers! Moosehead __________________ It takes less effort to smile than to frown ! |

Totalled up...Time to move on!
OK, Crew,
I totalled the votes and the 5" blade length won hands down. Score (depending on how many votes you gave each member) 19 - 2! Next: Standard grind won out over the #6 grind by a score of 15 - 7! Alright already: We are going to build a Model #7-5", Fisherman-Hunter, with a stainless steel blade...One option gone. NOW: Let's discuss hilts, spacers, handles, handle shapes and butt caps...BUT NO ROLL CALL...At least not yet. Let's hear from ya', Best, The "Captain" __________________ Captain Chris Stanaback |

Teardrop
Chief..and others,
A "teardrop" shaped handle is available on several few models. The model #7 is one of them. Actually more "almond" shaped, the handle is quite narrow at the hilt end and large at the butt. Certain types of wood look great with this handle shape. Most will show off better with a single finger grip instead, as it shows more of the wood's "character". Again: It just depends upon the wood. Captain is that the concave handle in the catalog?

Negative, Chief,
Teardrop is not concaved. It is very,,,very thin and small in diameter at the hilt and gets progressively bigger as you work your way back to the butt. Looking at it, straight from the back (butt end) of the handle, it is "almond-shaped". A bit hard to explain. Maybe somebody can post a pic??
